America rewards — and lavishly so — the ruthless. It rewards compartmentalization and the absence of critical thought. It rewards those who operate with a reduced or a vanished conscience. America rewards those who reflect back to it its sins of avarice & callousness, as long as they do so with gaudy spectacle. For these reasons and many more, including the high social status into what he was born, Donald John Trump has walked between the raindrops for all his life. Cheating people, lying to them prolifically, belittling them, throwing tantrums at them. Gaming the system. Assaulting women and then lying about it. All this and worse Donald has done and he would have gotten away with it all — at least in this life — had he not become president. But becoming president catapulted him into a realm in which he no longer possessed all of the secrets about how to lie, cheat and steal and get away with it. He found himself in a realm in which his enemies finally possessed equal or greater agency than him if he tried to fuck them over. Even something as prosaic to him as merely breaking the law might present repercussions for him — unless he could remain president indefinitely. Alas, he did not. And so Troll King von Shitbag received his second indictment post-presidency today. He’s on the hook for the classified documents he spirited away from the White House as he left. And it’s not clear that there are any palms he can grease or people he can intimidate to get him out of this… And more heat is coming his way in the form of Fani T. Willis, District Attorney for Fulton County, Georgia. Were Donald’s mentor, the evil Roy Cohn, alive he might be able to provide his protégé with some sage advice. Alas, Roy Cohn is dead and Donald is in deep shit.
